Mason Bee Update

Today was the final stage for the Mason bees life cycle. I took the larvae out of the hive and washed off the light cement-like covering. The directions warned there may be mites but there were none in sight. They are now drying before I put them into boxes and store them in the refrigerator crisper until spring blossoms appear.

We had purchased 30 bees and those bees produced 56 larvae. No idea how many will hatch in the spring.

A CHANGE OF VENUE

The Tahsis Community Garden Harvest Potluck will be moved to the Seniors Centre, due to today's weather. Same time 5 PM.

Now, if it were a work party and not a social event, then we'd be out there in our rain gear.

All community members are welcome.

Come and see the garden, there will be some plots coming available for the 2017 growing season.

Garden Whimsy

The community garden has 23 raised beds and 10 'table top' beds. Each plot is as unique as the gardener, here are some personal touches - garden whimsy.
