Greetings to all Tahsis Community Garden members! The Annual General Meeting will be held in the garden at 6pm on Tuesday, June 28th, all members need to attend this very important meeting.

In addition to current members, this meeting is open to anyone wishing to join the group and is for all members of the public. Please come and check out all the work that has been happening in the garden and find out what the TCG is all about!

Project Squash

Not a community garden initiative, but two members are offering to lead Project Squash.  


Basically, if anyone is interested in growing winter squash on their sunny lawns, we will come by, assess the site, dig an 8" hole in your lawn and plant winter squash.  Your job is to water the plants over the season.  Come harvest time, each grower receives a percentage of their crop, and the rest are donated to local food initiatives (eg Good Food Box and/or Community Cupboard). 


If you are interested, please contact Silvie Keen or Cheryl O'Donnell.  We are using a Cumberland initiative as a model, see below for details.

All members are encouraged to attend in support, with the added bonus of seeing the swearing in of our newly elected  Mayor and Council. 😃
